BeSweet: Is Dolby digital 5.1 fake or real?

when u convert a stereo wav into ac3 (5.1 dolby digital) using besweet, is it the real deal? i.e each channel encoded correctly ...surround affects comming from rear, center channel just for vocals etc

how does besweet do this? is it the same kind of technology when u use pro logic 2 on your amplifier to get surround out of a stereo signal? because when ever i have done an kdvd with stereo wav sound and used the pro logic 2 feature on my amp it has sounded excellent- i would say the quality has been on par with 5.1

No, you can't do that. What you want is done in a sound editor studio, by a sound engineer.

This convertion has no mean and I'm surprise that besweet let you do this.

All about stereo to 5.1 is explained here.
But this convesion will not revers prologic mux. You will only obtain pseudo DD AC3 file, of cource with 6ch, but not the same as oryginal 5.1 was.
AFAIK BeSweet does not remux propertly prologic to digital, it will only create pseudo something 5.1 file. Proper way is explained in link.

Exactly the same source 8)
I only wanted to say/write that simple 2ch as input and 5.1 as output in BeSweet (without all this EoH sorcery  ) might be not enought to get beautifully results. Or maybe DSPGuru did already implement this in BS :?: I don't know.

the old version of besweet has the dolby digital 5.1 feature. not too sure f=how it works

what i have done is made a kdvd out of two xvid movies, the sound was in mp3 format but i converted to DD 5.1 using besweet, sounds alright on pc. but unfortunatly i have run out of dvdr so cant test on my amplifier (dts and dolby compatible)

i have just read some of the guides and it seems i have done it all wrong. the guide they have looks very interesting, so will give it a go

thanks

i burned the dvd. when played back on my dvd player, it turns out the sound has been converted to Dolby d 2.0. so i have to use the pro logic 2 feature to get surround out of it, this on the other hand sounds excellent , my only complaint the centre channel is a bit quiet ...even when turned up
