Cross-fade or Blend mp3 file?

@Anyone,

I've used Nero Express to cross-fade or blend my mp3's created from
EAC using LAME encoder. Nero would not perfrom the cross-fade beacuse
it said my CDRW burner didn't support it :roll: I like the sound of
continous music without silence gaps. If anyone has used a software
program that will do this, please share. :)

Your CD burner doesn't support gapless tracks 8O

@BP

How old is your burner as most modern burners to my knowledge have supported gapless recording for ages now. :?

Kwag,

Just purchased it new four months ago :roll: It's a CDWRITER 5232. I have
My Mix software and it says it can blend, but the output won't save
the cross-fade results. WOW 8O This is frustrating. :evil: Also, it
seems that EAC using LAME creates silent frames as part of the MP3
conversion which is added to the audio file. I noticed the play times
between the original CDA and the MP3 have increased. Example from
28 seconds to 32 seconds. There must be a way to automate removing
silent gaps, fade-in and fade-out for each song without doing this
manually.

I know that Nero Express has an option to 'remove the silence at the end of *.cda tracks' I don't know if this works with wav or mp3's though.

It says that audio is stored in frames and the audio might not end exactly on the end of a frame so this removes the silence at the end of the frame.

Hi BP,

Which package did you install the 'Special' one?

Also are the above plugins in the Special package?

black prince 07-14-2005 05:34 AM

@Zyphon,

I installed the "Special", but used the FULL installation instead of normal.
I also, downloaded the plugins from FooBar2000's website. There are
other plugins, but for now this is all I need. What a SWEEEETTT :wink:
program. I've burned a few more custom Audio CD's and they came
out fantastic. 8)

Tip: After you highlite your mp3 songs in FooBar2000, use the right
click of your mouse and select Burn to CD. This will burn the songs
to your blank CD.

@black prince

Thanks for the info and the tip I shall give it a try.

I am pleased your results sound so great. :D

@Update,

I still use EAC + LAME as my music ripper and now I use MP3TAG as my
mp3 tag editor. I found foobar2000 not as stable with the crossfade
plugins and bought "MixMeister Pro 6" instead. I've been using the 30
day trialware version and liked it so much, I spent $50. It can burn
directly to CD and has mp3 catalog function similar to MP3CAT. :)
