Okay, so here I am encoding a 128kbps audio file with HeadAC3he and the encoding is 90% done but then... it pops a dialog up saying : Reading less bytes than expected. So I press OK, and then the encoded file disappeared from my hard drive!

Please use stop using Caps for your subject. It's like shouting at
us and I'm sure you don't mean to do that. What is your audio
source file (wav, mp3, etc).

Did you copy the mpg from CD to your hard drive? If so,
use "ISOBuster" to copy the mpg to HD. It does a better job.
Try extracting the audio from the mpg file using "MPEG Mediator" to
a wav file, then convert wav using "Headac3he" to mp2.
Tmpgenc has problems when demultiplex audio from mpg.

Yes, but done by someone else, and then sent to me.

Would Virtual Dub work also?

Is it true that 128kbps with HeadAC3he can sound just as good as 224kbps with TMGenc? Btw, multiplexing with TMPGEnc has no problems.. right?

Hi ferferfer,

I don't believe VD will not allow mpg as input. If it does let me know.
I've used "MPEG Mediator" many times for extracting audio to wav
from mpg files and converted it to mp2 using "Headac3he". It's
available on this forum. Give it a try.

That's why we use "Headac3he". If you can get audio quality at 64 bitrate
that sounds like 128, it means you can increase you video CQ with the
space saved from audio. Don't forget to use "Dual Channel" with
Headac3he which give even better audio quality.
