if i extract the audio with dvd2avi , the extractet file always reads link this

Roter Oktober AC3 T02 2_0ch 192Kbps DELAY 0ms.ac3

if i load this into headac3he, it gives me the opportunity to encode as Sorround 2 with 6ch, although the audio source is 2ch. will headac3he emulating dolby prologic 2?

btw:

how can i find the 6ch audio on my dvd, dvd2avi always extracts me the 2ch audio?

thx in advance

HeadAC3he encodes the Prologic information in two channels. That's how Prologic works

Only if your audio is extracted like this: test AC3 T01 3_2ch 448Kbps 48KHz.wav, which is 5.1 audio, then HeadAC3he will encode the full Dolby Prologic 2 5.1 channel information. It will still encode the information in two channels ( Stereo, dual channel, etc. ), but the other channels will be encoded in there. You can't encode 6 channel mp2 audio with HeadAC3he. Anyway, you could probably count with one hand the number of DVD players that support 6 channel MPEG audio

Well, I find that the simplest way to know which audio track on your dvd is the 6channel one is by just looking at the Stream-Processing Tab in DVD-Decrypter when you go to rip your disc. Personally, I use IFO mode to rip, and before I do, I de-select any audio/subtitle tracks that I won't be using (this makes ripping quicker, and it takes up a bit less space on the hard-drive). Doing it this way, I know that the only audio track I'll end up with is the desired 5.1 dolby. Then it's just a matter of selecting the appropriate Track# in dvd2avi's Audio Tab when creating my Project File (usually the 6ch track is the Track1, but not always). That's how I do it anyways.

You just "Demux" the audio. Don't "Decode" it. This way, HeadAC3he sees the original AC3 file as it is on the DVD, and then you encode as Prologic II.
Just select "Demux" on DVD2AVI
