audio problems

I'm having a problem with hearing the audio on my comp, whether it's an mp3 or playing a mpeg. All of the audio sounds like it's coming through a tube and is real tinny sounding. This problem started a few days ago, does anyone have an idea what might be causing this?

Put some earphones on the audio jack of your sound card. See if there is any difference. If they sound ok, either your output amplifier on the card could be messed up or your speakers said bye bye. Are you using speakers with built in amp :?: If you are, then your speakers could be at fault :!:
If everything sounds bad, then it's either a driver problem, or the sound card is messesd up.

I'm using just the standard speakers that came with the comp. The funny thing is the audio plays fine one second and doesnt the next. I just got this comp in febuary, kinda hard to believe something couldve went wrong already.

Try reinstalling the audio drivers

Go to the control panel, click on "Sound and Audio properties", click on "Hardware" and find your sound codecs, etc. Select one and click on properties and then click on "Driver". There you have options to roll back the driver, update, uninstall, etc. You could just try uninstalling and then reinstalling it
