Um, I'm having this problem and I've noticed some other's are reporting it on the h3adach3 forum. When I try to convert a wav audio file to a mp2 file for a movie. (Correctly converted to wav in VirtualDub) I get an error message saying it can find mp2.dll! This is wrong because I followed the directions and put it in the same directory as the program

PLEASE HELP!!!! I want to watch my movie!!!!!

Thanx,
Twobit326

My version of HeadAC3he doesn't use mp2.dll.

Maybe you meant to say MP2enc.dll ??

Did you download the files from a trusted site ?? (doom9.org)

Click on LOG do see if all the DLL-files loaded !!

Hope this helps !

I'm think'n you mean the MP2enc.Dll?

You may or may not have already tried this, but go to the download page Here and find the type of processor you are running. There are {5} .Dll's that I believe are customized for each type of processor.
MP2enc.Dll, MPAlib.Dll, SSRC.Dll, Vorbis.Dll, Lame.Dll

Eventhough the versions look the same...download and extract each of these files to your HeadAC3he directory(if it asks..overwrite all files) and try again...Or try another .wav file as a test, you might have a bad file...Anyway good luck!

here's my log. jhope it helps:

HeadAC3he v0.23 by Dark Avenger 20.04.2002

Loading azid.dll 1.8 build 825...succeeded
Loading ssrc.dll...failed
Loading lame_enc.dll...failed
Loading vorbis.dll...failed
Loading MP2enc.dll...failed
Loading MPAlib.dll...failed
Parsing INI-file...done

Notes:
dumb mode: uses absolutely no temp space
float mode: (much) faster, but uses destfile
as temp space on first pass

Choose appropriate target
and press Options 2 times for configuration.

Don't use CBR or ABR for OGG 48kHz target!

That's it. All of those ...failed.
They should all say ...succeeded
Did you download the dll's for your correct CPU?

hello,

I ran into this same problem because I downloaded the dlls into the Headac3he directory but I forgot to unzip them! Make sure you unzip each dll with WinRar.

good luck!

Kwag,
in another post you said that you go full dolby surround into one of your movies. How do you do this. When I got to optoins in Headac3he and select 6ch sound and press start, it says that this format doesnot support multiple channels. What did you do to get 5.1 dolby suround?

Sorry about that a_star62 My mistake. What I meant was "Full surround 2 mode" Not 5.1. I think there's no program "yet" that can create 5.1 mpeg2 audio .

Darn kwag, you got my hopes way up.
Never fear, the future is near
If you run headAC3he, and select Downmix type as 4 channels then press "Start", a pop-up screen says "Sorry, downmixing to more than 2 channels in this mode is not supported yet..." <<<---- I hope the yet... is sooner than we think

You have to download ONLY the ones specifically for your CPU. They're labeled on the site.

Looks like were in for a long wait on the 5.1 sound issue. I was browsing on doom9.org reading up on the info to do with this the other day. It seems that its gonna be a hardware issue as much as a software one since very few players in the world (with the possible exception of a Philips model) can decode anything other than mpeg audio on a vcd.

Search doom9's forum with something like "mpeg-2 multichannel". There are plenty of threads wich explain how to create those with windows or linux.

i did a search as you recommended and also found out that although it is possible to make dolby digital 5.1 surround on a vcd, virtually no players will play them.

I d/l the one for my CPU originally. When that did not work I d/l every other kind and tested all of them. Just to let you know I have a 533mhz Celeron. (Thank God I'm getting a new one next month!)

I ahve a feeling I'm screwed. But If I'm not any help would be appreciated.

Do you see this news at doom9?

"...we also have a new HeadAC3he , packed with Vorbis 1.0 (no longer giving access to channel coupling), including several bugfixes and the 4ch and 6ch presents will default to Dolby surround downmix as DS2 makes no sense there"

I've been trying to download the new headac3he for the last two days. The .rar package is corrupt.
http://darkav.de.vu

Correction: You need WinRar version 3.0 to decompress the file. I was using 2.8.
