Can Any Player Play VBR MP2 Audio for VCD/SVCD?
Topic says it all!

Okay, I just tried it on my player, and it DOES work... :D
No problem... Everything in sync and in great quality! The problem is, Headache seems to be very bad in predicting the final size of the VBR MP2... Any ideas how this can be improved? |
VBR audio worked?! Interesting. :) Which player is that again Jelly? A Cyberhome? I might have to give that a try sometime just for fun :D ....though I strongly doubt most players would handle it, including mine. :(

Be carreful !
MP2 isn't as strong in VBR mode as MP3. The bitrate is very badly balanced within the clip and the result is often worse than in CBR. |
:!: :!: HORROR :!: :!:
Now we're going to have to do audio file size prediction 8O  "MP2Matic" coming right out :!: (Just kidding  ) -kwag |

Since encoding the audio is usually faster, encode the VBR audio first and then see how much space is actually left for video.

:D Player is a Cyberhome CH-DV-500 with the newest firmware... So I actually just tested it for the hell of it, but I might go back to CBR since I really don't want to do audio prediction.
Thanks for listening though! -Andy |
