Above is the command used. Besweet crashed even before starting to encode. Windows reported that it has encountered a problem and needs to close. AppName besweet.exe ModName: unknown Offset: 00000000

ok!

seems problems with your source...
the file play fine?
if don't is corrupt!

rs008f 03-02-2004 05:24 PM

Yes it plays fine on Windows Media Player but not sure if it's corrupt or not unless there's a software for OGG to check for errors like DivFix for Divx. I demuxed the audio stream from a OGM file using Virtualdub Mod.

rs008f 03-02-2004 05:26 PM

TMPEnc encodes the OGG audio fine but heard TMPGEnc is not good at encoding audio, so I want to use Besweet instead but I guess I'll stick to TMPGEnc until I can find a solution.

jorel 03-02-2004 05:27 PM

try with HeadAC3he!

for me is better than besweet.

rs008f 03-02-2004 05:58 PM

I have HeadAC3he but I don't think it accepts OGG as input/source.

jorel 03-02-2004 06:10 PM

sorry for late....
i was searching about ogg and headac3 cos i never used oggvorbis!

i'm in doubt too!
:?

Hello: Try this command line:

"C:\BeSweet\BeSweet.exe" -core( -input "C:\ABC.ogg" -output "C:\ABC.mp2" ) -ota( -G max ) -2lame( -s 48 -m d -b 192 -e )

Maybe you can leave ota item like in your command line too.

rs008f 03-02-2004 07:51 PM

Gave same errors. It crashes too on both 1.5 and 1.4

big_values too large! 438
Blocktype == 0 and window-switching == 1 not allowed.
mpg123: Can't rewind stream by 293 bits!
fatal error. MAXFRAMESIZE not large enough.

How do You obtain your ogg file?

Dialhot 03-02-2004 08:44 PM

Try to convert it into uncompressed wav with virtualdub mod then use the wav into besweet.

Do You do that:
from "File menu item"
or from "OGM menu item".
You must demux the file with the last one way.

I know this will work but I'm trying to go from OGG to MP2 directly. :D

So you haven't got any problem and you are happy to tell us we are loosing our time answering you ?

Very interesting...

rs008f 03-02-2004 10:54 PM

My question is how to convert from OGG --> MP2 directly. I would like to do this because it is possible.

But it is not possible always. Sometimes, audio files became corrupted and then you must to try another way. Nobody here is a magician or a guru.

jorel 03-02-2004 11:17 PM

well,
you need a "file converter" like audio maestro or easycdda !

besweet and headac3 can't open ogg to save in another format,
they "only"can save as ogg :!:

rs008f 03-03-2004 12:02 AM

Well Besweet says it can convert OGG to other formats but I guess the problem lies with Besweet. You can try it yourself. Download a OGG gile from www.vorbis.com and try to convert it to other format like MP2 using Besweet and its GUI, it crashes everytime. Maybe the problem lies with the vorbis DLL, I have version 1.0.

rs008f 03-03-2004 12:42 AM

I fixed the problem by downloading latest libvorbis.dll.

good!
:D

but where was used?
besweet ,headac3he.....where?

rs008f 03-03-2004 01:30 AM

Besweet. I don't think HeadAC3he accepts OGG as input.

Excuseme but you are wrong. By command line besweet can convert ogg to mp2, just with the command line i've posted a few lines before.

jorel 03-03-2004 03:35 AM

oh.....good to know!

like i posted,i never used oggs.......found in besweet faqs:
7. What are the input formats supported by BeSweet ?
AC3,LPCM,WAV,MP3,MP2,MPA,Ogg Vorbis.

thanks!

But it is true that in the gui, there is no option for select ogg files inputs. The ogg file extension is not showed in the list.

rs008f 03-04-2004 02:54 PM

Yes it is. OGG is in the list. Remember I just converted OGG-->MP2 using besweet and it's GUI. You need severall DLLs I think. Like libvorbis.dll and vobinput.dll.
