Stream audio muted after conversion with besweet?

After the conversion with besweet, from Ac3 to Sourround2,
the output stream audio is mute completely.

with other stream audio instead all is ok (AC3 448 --> AC3 384).

someone has some idea in purpose?

your dvd source don't have track ac3-2channels?

...if have, then you don't need to encode anything!

I already had problems while using toolame as encoding engine into besweet. Just select mp2enc and it should be okay.

But is it usefull for ac3 5.1 to ac3 2.0?

Dialhot 03-25-2004 07:08 PM

Good question. Logically, not :-(

If you have the DVD you may want to see if it has the audio format you want. My DVD player doens't do AC3 6ch so I usually have to pull off the track it does use when I play the original in my player. In this case AC3 2ch. I used DVD2AVI and selected the correct track (use IfoEdit) in the Audio settings to output the useable audio track in the project and used it for my DVD audio in TMPGenc DVD Author. I wish DVD Author allowed you to put in multiple audio tracks :x

I know this doensn't answer your question on using BeSweet to do that job, but you may not have to worry about doing the conversion in the first place.

I am following the vmesquita's guide , for which i don't know which logical he has followed or less.

its guide says therefore:
Quote:

13.d.2) Here I am going to explain how to use AC3Machine. To use it you'll need also Besweet, because AC3Machine is just a front-end to besweet. I suggest you put both in the same folder. Open AC3Machine and click on the yellow area next to "BeSweet", and select besweet.exe location. Now click on the yellow area next to "input(AC3)" and select your WAV. Click on the yellow area besides "Output (AC3) you can choose the name of the file to be written. In "Overall Output configuration" in the center of the window, choose "Channels Mode": "Surround 2", "Dynamic Compression: Light" In AC3 encoding options, you can choose the bitrate Finally, click on "Give AC3 to encode your file. Do this for each WAV you have. Now go to 14.

I think that ac3 2.0 is the same thing of Sourround 2. or not?

Dialhot 03-26-2004 03:56 AM

Yes it is.
I never use it personally, perhaps the convertion from 5.1 to 2.0 doesn't works ?

Why don't you use MP2 ?

In order to reencode AC3, you must to use azid.dll in besweet.
"ac3enc.dll creates (almost) useless ac3 streams. don't use it to encode things you care for. it's there only for test purposes." (taked from official faq)
Using mp2enc or toolame, will give you mp3 or mp2 audio streams. if mp2 streams can be played DPII, I don't know it.

You can find further information in http://dspguru.doom9.net/

effectively it did not have sense to encoder from ac3 5.1 to ac3 2.0; 8O

for which to the end I have encoded from ac3 448 to ac3 320. :D

I use ac3machine, in any case, as I make to select the several dll that you say?
