Audio Quality - any point upping the bitrate to 128kbps ?

Hi :). First post on the forums, managed two good KVCD conversions so far with QuEnc, turned out to be the best encoder for me as everything else just caused problems .

Anyway, I was wondering if its best to convert audio from an AVI movie, to the same bitrate as the source?

e.g. my situation is that I've got an AVI with 96kb/s audio... when I convert it with Headache, is there any point upping the bitrate, to say 128?

Logically I wouldn't, but bitrates might have different effects across audio formats.

Hope I've made this clear .
Thanks for any help.

As you guess, all format are different according to bitrates.

In word of quality, let say than 160 Kbs mp2 is equivalent to 128 Kbs mp3, and 96 Kbps ogg.

So if you sound is OGG 96, you should do it at 128 Kbps in mp2 if you don't want to *loose* something. For sure, there won't be any *gain* during the operation.
