Nero Vision Express problems
NVE is a nice program to create animated menus and the like... but the only problem is that it tries to encode the KVCD stream once again :x
is it possible to switch off the standard compliance anywhere? i can't fin the button anywhere :P |
Unfortunally it is not possible (or like you I never found the button :-).

hehe! :P i will use it for some small videos then... ;)

You can do your menus as easily with "tmpgenc dvd author" also.

Sorry if I re-take this old thread.
I came across with Nero Vision Express (v.3), and liked the easiness to make menues for my KVCD (I have several shorts I want to put together in a CD). - Isn't there yet a way to make it accept my streams without reencoding? - Can I switch it to accept non.standard streams? Dialhot how can I make a menu for my kvcds with TMPGenc DVD author?. It complains about my streams, and I just can manage to output DVD format. How can it be done?. Thanx |

Else you must use DVDLabPro or fool TDA with DVDPatch to make it see your video as standard. |
Dialhot, sorry because I explained bad myself.
I don't want to make a DVD menu but a VCD menu. The only tool I know can be used for that is VCDeasy, but I find it too confussing (even I managed to do several VCD with menues earlier). After taking a look at NVE, I thought it could be very useful, but it isn't because it reencodes frames to make them compatible with standard, and screw them up. And I don't know how to use DVDlab to author a VCD menu, is it possible to be done? |

Thanx Dialhot.
The thumbnails that Nero Burning Rom selects for the menu are just the first frame... black frame in most cases :( . This has been improved in NVE, where you can select not to employ a black screen. I hope they'll add in the future the option to avoid full compliance in future versions of NVE. By now, I'm employing VCDeasy as I used  |
