Authoring: Convert KVCD to DVD ?

hi guys

i have recently had a load of films convereted to kvcd only to find that my DVD player wont play them.

can someone tell me how to convert a kvcd to divx.avi so i can burn them to DVD useing WINAVI or is there a codex/plugin that will allow WINAVI to make a dvd from the kvcd file ???

thanks

I don't now this prog (winavi) but jsut forget what you want to do ! Converting an already converted video (twice !) only leads to awfully bad results !
YOu can turn your KVCD into DVD with very few steps if they are in MPEG2.
Do you know if they are MPEG1 or MPEG2 ?

the files are both mpeg 1 and 2
i have used TMPGEnc Plus 2.5 to author dvd's but these wont play in any of my dvd players
i use winavi to convert to dvd (will convert avi/mpeg/wmv ect) to make my dvds rather that TMPG as TMGP take along time to make a authered dvd (in my case up to 30 hrs ) where as WINAVI will do the same in about 1 hr but it wont take a KVCD

I really don't see what is the purpose to have something unwatchable in 1 hour insteed of something that can be good after 30 hours.

But that's your choice...

i normally use divx files to write up to dvd and on my players at least, the results are better useing winavi than tmgpe

That is because you don't usally do KDVD ;-).
Basic templates of tempgenc for doing DVD aren't the best ones. Try the same thing with a KDVD template (even if it takes 30 hours !) and see the difference.

Now for your current problem; there are a lot of threads here about KVCD -> KDVD, just read a little the forums.
