DVDit! authoring Problems

Hey i'm quite new to kdvd but i have been encoding to kvcd for a while now. I've been experimenting with kdvd using the half dvd (10 hr)templates from kvcd.net and DVDit to create the menus.

Problem 1 : the first disk i burned, my menu's has about an inch cut off on all sides when viewed through my dvd player and the same with the video file. it seems stretched or squashed.

I have managed to fix the menu issue by re-designing and making sure everything was within the safe are- menu is perfect now.

still i have issues with the actual video file (stretching/squashing) it only happens when DVDit complies the disk for me

when i burn the mpg str8 to dvd it works fine, but with no menu.

can anybody point me in the right direction.

btw i'm encoding tv rips full screen & 29.97fps

thanks in advance.

Why using DVDIt and not an other tool ?

Because it was the first piece of software that i came across that would let me design all of the layout of the menu with my own graphics.

What other software would you reccomend?

My only preference is that it must have custom menus and be able to play half kdvd.

I've tried Vmesquita's 'Guide: DVD/DivX to KDVD/K(S)VCD using
CCE/TMpgEnc' but half the tools needed had dead links & i can't find them anywhere else on the net.

The guide seems very complicated, is there not a more user friendly way to do it?

You should use DVDLab Pro.
