Cant burn a CDR 90 minute disk - HELP Please.

Hello,
Slight problem due to a problem in encoding in TMPGEnc i got an oversized m2v file when muxed to the smallest soundtrack was even bigger. So i thought having some 90 Minute CD's I may as well up the audio quality to fit the above CD. Problem is now NERO7 dont recognize it even though i specified overburn etc. I consulted the NERO site but could find nothing there. I then tried an old copy of CDRWIN i have and for some reason that couldnt find my drive. I then downloaded IMGBURN (latest) and that also could not assist. I tried to create and image in VCDEasy and burn it. It recognized the need for a 90 min disc and started the process then it failed. At my wits end I consulted the Internet to find a way of doing this but could not find anythingthat made sense.

Can anybody please help with the above with some constructive advise this is doing my head in!!
Thanks,
Blubear

When exactly the operation is failing ? At the end or in the middle ?
I never managed to put exactly 90 min on a CD90. The value is closer to 87min.

Hi Phil

Errm.. in Nero it wont burn at all, the overburn warning comes up then when you OK this it just errors out and wont burn. In VCDEasy it compiles a Bin file but when it comes to burn it compiles arranges then errors as well. IMGBurn just says the disc is to small only reads disk as a normal 80min CD-R. Basicly so does Nero. I went to their site and found some overburn settings which i input on the appropriate page but it still errors out.
Oh Boy!!

The million dolar question is: is your CD/DVD burner capable of burning 90 minutes CD-R's?
Are you positive of that?
Cheers

For what I saw any burner that can do overburn can burn 90min. this is not the case for 99 and 100 min ones. An other thing is that if the burner does not support overburn, the burn does not even starts. So I think his burner can burn CD90.

Brand and model, please?

Hi
Yeah Sure its on my laptop which is compaq Presario and the Burner is a CD/DVD rewriter combo TEAC DV-W28EW. I am pretty sure i did overburn a disc on this before although i am not positive. I have looked on the internet and cannot see any firmware upgrades for this burner yet as its apparently new'. I cannot find jack on the TOSHIBA site who apparently make this one.
Thanks,
Blubear

Nah...
If it is a brand new model, as it seems to be the case, I would bet that it does support overburn.
I'm clueless as to what is causing the problem :(.
Any thoughts Phil? Anyone?

As soon as I receive and answer to my first question in my first post ;) : "When does exactly the problem happen ?".

Phil,

I happens at the start of the burn procedure just after you press BURN and the OVERBURN warning comes up. I ok that to proceed and process fails.

I suppose then that the disc is still virgin ? Or is it lost ?
In Nero, change the burn mode from DAO to DAO/96. You can try also CloneCD to copy your image. Your problem is similar to what happens with old Pioneer burner and Nero 5.x
