I don't have a dvd burner yet but I'm thinking about starting to encode with the KDVD templates so it'll be easier to transfer to dvd media. My player can play the mpeg2 video when muxed as mpeg1 onto a cd.

So I'm just wondering if anyone else is doing this and the avg. length can be fit onto an 80 min cdr.

Thanks,
ren

Hi ren,

You should be able to fit close to an hour (depending on the movie!) on one 80 minute CD using KDVD 720x480 template and file prediction. I get excelent results encoding full ~2 hour movies using prediction and a target of ~1.6GB (with audio) for DVD-R, so half of that would be close to an hour full D-1, full DVD quality on one CD-R
