Sons,
depends on what type of files you have,,
if they are vob's or mpg2 dvd compliant.
UMFactory2 will accept mpg's only, but they can have mp2, mpa,pcm or ac3 audio, at 352x240 half d1 or 720x480 d1, resolution.
but it's picky even if it does accept the mpg, theyre may be problems muxing or creating/burning in the final steps.
For your mp2 mpv files if it doesnt accept it at first , try remuxing with tmpgenc or bbmpg either at dvd profile or mpg2 if you are not getting audio.

You can also try burning with nero (if you end up with VOB's already authored----create two folders AUDIO_TS & VIDEO_TS in CAPital letters)

or try Ulead's DvDWorkshop, Pinnacle InstantCOPY. Appz like SpruceIT, Maestro, MyDvD may or may not have a higher learning curve and/or for an easy to use yet very powerfull authoring program try DVDLab <<--- they have a free beta right now but it's a real Kick-Azz program..but it will accept mpg's and mpv mp2 files,,,,

from my trials though- i find it works better with ac3 audio......to convert your audio u can try BeSweet or get the BeSweet GUI {both at http://dspguru.doom9.net/}

Kwag posted a link to a new app called TMPGEnc DVD Author, almost the same as tmpgenc but to author dvd's. I believe it's compatible with tmpgenc processed files. http://www.pegasys-inc.com/e_main.html

I use imgtool to create an iso image {of my AUDIO_TS & VIDEO_TS with my authored vob files} and burn that with dvddecrypter.

what about m1v

I use KVCD-ULBR-352x240-_NTSCFilm_-PLUS.mcf to create m1v and headache to convert ac3 to mp2, then remux them using bbmpeg. I still keep the demuxed files and ac3. How and what to use to create on dvd-r?
I tried maestro but it doe not seem to like the m1v file. ulead no audio or crashes. Any ideas?

DVD-Lab

I'm on a quest for the right software too. My drive came bundled with NeoDVD, which does some things suprisingly well, but not all.

My goal is to capture from VHS using my Radeon VIVO and burn to whatever format is appropriate. The highest resolution from my VIVO (720x480) requires that I use MPEG2 to avoid dropped frames (Rage Theater chip - love it). Now what apps will import the MPEG2?

DVD-Lab doesn't seem to. It complains that it can't read them. WinDVD Creator worked, but it's rather slow. ULead Movie Factory did too...

Not so crazy about TMPGEnc DVD Author - it doesn't let me do +VR that I can see...

Any hope for using DVD-Lab for this? It looks awesome.
