I know for a fact that it is possible to burn a little more than 800 MB on an 80 minute CD with Nero.......problem is: I don't know how.

I have an mpeg size of 793 MB to burn. I know that Nero can go to 810 even 815. Preferably I would like to go with VCD easy, but it wont recognize my burners, even the aspi tool is disabled. Nero's preferences says it might even damage my writer if I overburn.que lastima

You can overburn to ~825MB of mode2 video data onto some 80-minute 700MB CD-Rs (brands will differ...and even discs from the exact same spindle may differ sometimes). I usually use Fujifilm cdr's (the "made in Japan" ones actually manufactured by Taiyo Yuden) because they are high quality and consistently allow me an overburn of 825MB without any coasters. Using different brands is a crap-shoot....some may only allow a very modest overburn. The most I've ever overburned an 80-min cdr was 830MB, though I don't recall the brand, nor would I recommend trying to go quite that far because you usually end up with drink-coasters . One other thing to keep in mind is that it's possible that your player may not read overburned discs properly if it's fussy.

As for the part about overburning causing damage to your writer, from what I've read, I think that's probably unlikely. Do a search for those kinds of "overburning" posts on some of the other video forums and you'll find lots of people dismissing these warnings. Of course, don't blame me though if your burner dies because of it! My burner is designed to support 99min cdr's but I still get this same damage warning from Nero as well . Seems to me that they're probably just covering their a**es. You could always check beforehand whether or not your burner supports overburning to eliminate any possibility of risk. Here's a listing of some burners that support overburning: http://www.dvdrhelp.com/cdwriters . Hope it helps.

I'm assuming you mean 'VCD 2.0" that will overburn right? Well, thats why I'm tryin to get VCDeasy to work, cuz they say Nero will accept that.
Anyways, I tried setting the overburn to 90 and 95 minutes, but Nero gives me an overburn warning,I ignore it, but the burn fails anyways. I think because it wasn't converted to 2.0 Right now, I got my hands full, tryin to install updated adaptec, and aspi versions.....a real pain.

If the burn fails at the end, that a problem of medium. Try an other brand.

If the burn fails at the begining (in fact, doesn't begin at all) that means that your recorder do _NOT_ allow overburning.

It is not possible with all burners.

Sometimes when I overburn to 82:00+ (although I have overburned up to 82:28...) the burn fails right at the end, on the lead out. But the disc plays fine anyway... check if the failed disc works.

I always thought Tok was suppose to figure out the type and number of disks to set the CQ value for. Sometimes it surpasses the CD by a 100 MB. Guess I'll have to lower the CQ value by 5 then what Tok suggests....just to be on the safe side.

I would not use any overburned CD that has failed at completion. While the DVD player reaches that part, it may keep spinning and moving the head. And that may damage the player. Particularly if you leave the CD in the player and go to sleep.

Usually when I overburn an 80min CD to 900 MB..it "fails" at 97%...so I just miss the credits at the end of movie..but I can still use it. Nero will overburn an 80min CD safely to 837MB so I set a bbmpeg limit to 796Mb.
But as I mentioned before, a good rule of thumb is to always go 2 to 5 less on the CQ value then what Tok recommends depending on the size of the screen format, that way you don't have to sweat thinking if it will fit on the CD or not.
