23.976 fps NTSC Movie rejected from DVDMaestro
I have many xvid sources with 23.976 fps. When I converted it with KVCD sample I don't need to convert the framerate. My pioneer dv-444 plays the results very well.
But now, in the age of dvd-authoring, I want to author the KVCD movie to a DVD with DVDMaestro (patched). But the software doesn't like 24fps Movies I think. It says "invalid framerate". When I patch the movie to a framerate of 29.976 it works with DVDMaestro, but the duration of the movie is wrong. What can I do? Do I really have to encode the movie to 29.976 fps again? A what with the audio track? I have to stretch it to fit with the new encoded movie, or not? That would sound not so good for me. |
You need to run a program called PULLDOWN on the *.m1v file to "convert" it from 23.976 to 29.97 fps There is NO such thing as a 23.976fps DVD, only 25 (PAL) or 29.97 (NTSC)
Better still, get DoPulldown - GUI'ed version of pulldown.exe from doom9 download section. |
Everything is okay now. Now I have converted my xvid with the kdvd template as mpeg2 and it worked. It worked with 24fps mpeg2, too. No problem!
In that case I don't have to stretch the audio. Just to convert it to 48khz. |
I inserted a 23.97 video file in Maestro
I converted a xvid LOTR two towers movie.
I demuxed the audio using virtualdub then re-encode using besweet back to ac3. (If you know how to extract the audio as is I would love to know) AC3DVM then ran the avi file through tmpgenc using the KDVD-352x480-Half-D1-_NTSC_.mcf template. That template seems to do something to the video but I don't know exactly what. it says frame rate: Quote:
