A trick with the chaptering with VCDeasy

I don't know if it's really a trick but here it is:
My settings in VCDeasy are PBC off and I set chapters at every 2 minutes. When I play the KVCD in my DVD-player I can do rewind and fast forward but I can also press "next" and "previous" and the DVD skips exactly 5 minutes from the movie. I'm really happy with this beacause I hated to be able to make chapters but unable to use rewind and fast forward, or able to use them but withpout chapters and had to use them for long time if I wanted to play the movie from minute 52 for example:)

I don't know if I really found something beacuse I haven't tested anything else but at least I share it with you:)))

Hi Edlund,

Did I read this correct :?: On your player, making chapters every 2 minutes, skips in 5 minute steps when you press "next" :?:

That's right Kwag : some players (as my Thomson) automatically skip in 5 minutes steps on all the VCD that don't have any chapters.

Here Edlund turned PBC off, that means that the chapters on the disc aren't used, and so the above facility is provided by the player.

With the Thomson I can even display a mosaic of 9 animated thumbnails corresponding to 9 point in the disc and jump directly to this point (it's like a DVD menu, but created by the player :-))
This last feature isn't even writen in the doc of the player :-p

Yes, that's right, I turn PBC off and I can skip 5 minutes. It seemes that it's pointless to set 2 minutes chapters if the reason is in my player, but I thought this is some kind of useful bug in VCDeasy:) Now I know that this works only on my player - Samsung S224 - thanks Dialhot:)
