800MB CD-R burning?
Im new to all this and was wondering about my filesizes.Managed to create a kvcd that is 795MB in size, went to burn it with nero, had a look at my cdr specs-cdr 80mins,capacity 703MB.Is this right,I thought a cdr 80 would hold 800MB.Anyhow when I go to burn and nero analyses the file it fits in the cdr but is showing a file size of 695MB.So wheres the 100MB decrease gone? Have I lost some quality bcos nero is rescaling something or am I just not understanding something obvious?

Thanx, yeah on the bottom of the screen its showing 695MB and it burns just fine. However when the disc is burned and I click on its properties it shows that the amount of data on the disc is 695MB-this is the part that confuses me,the size of the file on my HD shows up as 795MB but the amount of data on my cdr is 100MB less!
I suppose I shouldnt worry to much as all seems to be well when I play it and Im gettin pretty good results so far. |

But if they appear to play fine, then I wouldn't worry about it :) |
i have a file which is 804mb or so, and I wish to burn it to an 780 min CD
I go into ner 5 and choose SVCD, and then copy over the mpg, then i choose re-encode or something like that on a pop-up box, since i heard reports of turning off the feature making Xbox's not play the svcd, next thing i know the file is 92mins long, is this right? can I still burn it? |

When its put into nero, its 90+ minutes, will it still burn on the cd with the "fit to cd" encoding setting on? |
