the video file came out great with the default kvcdx2 icd template with a file size of 806 MB. I burned with nero as non-compliant VCD and both my samsung dvd-n501 and my pioneer 343 along with power DVD on my cpu are showing only 1 hour 16 min!. I had tried with the regular kvcd format and this happened, so I tried the x2 template to see if it happened again, and there it is. Should I use a different burning program or am I doing something wrong with nero?

Even though it shows the time incorrectly, the complete movie is there. This is caused by the MPEG-1 VBR stream. If you do your movie with chapters, using VCDEasy, you'll be able to skip to different chapters in your standalone player, even if the DVD player can't display the correct time position.

i have not been able to get vcdeasy to work yet since every time I have encoded a movie with tmpgenc and then tried to use vcdeasy, it tells me there is an error in the mpeg stream and just makes the xml and not the bin. This happened with multiple versions of sexy beast and alien. I always try vcdeasy first, but end up having to burn with nero and the errors are always at different places of the mpg files. I have vcdeasy 1.1.1 and tmpgenc version 2.56.39.143

Before you load your mpeg file in VCDEasy, did you turn off ( uncheck ) the "perform some MPEG compliance checks" ?
