Hello Everyone!

According to FitCD the Pure MPEG stream line lists the CDR as having a 814,373KB size. Overhead using VCDEasy is about 12MB so I should be able to fit 814-12=802MB on the CDR...right

A 74 minute CD = 740MB
A 80 minute CD = 800MB
A 90 minute CD = 900MB
Etc, etc, etc......

Just add a zero to the time rate on the CD-R.

I know...I am looking at the true capacity. According to VCDEasy burn log the CDR80 I use actually has an 807 mb capacity and the overhead is ~11mb so that means the MPG must be less then 795mb or the burn will fail. I was wondering if this is true for all types of 80CDR's and what the capacity is for other sizes.

Download the program CDRIdentifier ( http://www.gum.de/it/download/english.htm ) This will tell you the exact capacity of the media.

Thanks!!!

BTW this is on their site:

Dear friends of the CDR Identifier,

our CDR Identifier download page has been offline for a while. We have decided to discontinue development of this application.
Other projects are keeping me busy and the required effort to adapt the CDR Identifier to new versions of Microsoft Windows ™ has grown immensely.

Therefore we have decided to put the CDR Identifier, a project I had started just for fun, to rest permanently. We got it right the first time and deleted all source code. There’s no coming back.

We have received many requests regarding the CDR Identifier, and so we decided to put the very last version online again. If you decide to download it, please keep in mind that we are not supporting it anymore, and due to schedule pressure in other projects we cannot answer any emails related to the CDR Identifier application.

Thank you for your sympathy and your support in the past!

I've got a 700mb 80min Fuji CDR in there and Nero keeps saying the 785mb file (size through nero's explorer) is too big. I turned on overburning and still no luck. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Spyglass

I would guess that NERO adds more overhead then say VCDEasy which adds about 12mb. I go up to 795mb+VCDEasy overhead. NO OVERBURN.
