Avisynth: An optimal script to reencode a MPEG2?

Hello to everyone ! I have followed that and other foruns about scripts for K(VCD, SVCD, DVD) and I have learned very much ! I should want to know about a scrip that better use to reencode a MPEG2. It´s a PAL, 480x576 and 4:3 aspect ratio.

I appreciate any help.

Cheers,

Danpos

Unique good mpeg to mpeg reencode is vob to mpeg, it means DVD to KVCD/KDVD.
Any other recompression is a bad idea.
Why do you want to reencode it?

Hi, guy ! I´m sure that any mpeg reencode is bad idea, but to think about it like a problem to be solved: If you have a MPEG2 source other than VOB, how should you do a script to obtain a better clean result ?

One motivation was it: put a fixed subtitle in the movie ... :D :D

Try Dialhot's V4 script for MPEG-4 sources, they can be found at the AVI to KVCD/KDVD forum. Just use MPEG2Source("path\clip.d2v",cpu=4,idct=7) instead of AVISource() and remove BlindPP.

DVD2AVI takes any MPEG2 file in input, not only vobs.

So you can use any script you want. Boulder's suggestion (to use my V4 script) is only for highly compressed sources like SVCD. But if your MPEG2 is taken from a Digital cam for instance, with bitrate near DVD ones (6 - 8 Mbit/s) you can use any script desinged for DVD.

Hello,Phil ! Yes, I was already noted that feature in DVD2AVI and yes, my source is highly compressed one. I have interested to know about which filters provider better results for noise reduction (I´ve noted many noises such as "flickerings" and "litle dots" in the file resulting).

I´m grateful for help, guys ! :D

Sincerely Yours,

Danpos
