For best results as said do set the crop to round 2 as your source is progressive, also do set cropping to accurate to avoid AR errors (right side in the error message box), also resize is set to 16! (in mpeg generally, no matter if 1/2 or mpeg4 - due to 1/4 chroma resolution! as mpeg isnt only grayscale) .... and if your source is anamorphic and you got enough space for final bitrate, anamorphic at target is a very good choice - youre right

Seriously...FitCD is exactly what I was looking for!
I understand MovieStacker is similar (but I guess you can't even get an old version right now).

...will be interesting to compare.
