Hi All,

Here a program, DCTune, for jpeg's which is interesting. It's suppose
to take a jpeg image and give the best possible matrix to convert.
Here's the website and a trial program is available. I wonder if such
a program could be used to enhance Tmpgenc matrix for KVCD.

Hi Kwag,

Here a website that does a better job explaining DCTune. This
may be apples and oranges comparision, but they do discuss
the the characteristics of what the human eye can see during
a video and how this translates to DCTune's Matrix. The enhance-
ments are small, but for low bitrates and low resolutions could
dramatically improve it.

Some ideas may pop-up that could lead to enhancements
to KVCD matrix.
