Hey guys, this is my first post here, so please bare with me.
I have a small test sample of an avi file I want to frameserve with avisynth to CCE 2.64. I have used this combo before without any problems but my success rate is about 50%, sometimes it works other times it don't. I have encountered an error with the avi file above while trying to load the converted avs (VFAPIconfig) script. The error that cce prompts me with is The, I find that funny but have no idea why I get this error. I've tried numerous scripts with different settings for each but I am unable to get it to work with this particular file. To make a long story short, can someone download this test clip (12M) and give it a try.
I'd appreciate it very much.
If you dare to try , you can download the file from my FTP:

142.163.147.162 (this IP is dynamic but should remain active for 24hr)
user: powershare
pass:share

EDIT: FTP now offline. The error I was reffering to was THE, lol thats it THE. Now what is that supposed to mean.

Thx

hey,

sorry I can't help you with your frameserving to CCE problem since I don't use CCE (the KVCD templates are for the TMPG encoder )- but I did download your test clip (Spiderman?) and reencoded to 528x480 mpeg1 with the x3 template and it looks as good as the Divx5 test clip. Have you tried that? I mostly like to watch movies on my standalone player not the 'puter.

To reencode your test clip, load it into Goldwave and save the audio to wav - then encode the .wav file to .mp2 with Headac3he (resample to 44.1 khz). Then load the .avs created by FitCD into TMPGEnc and reencode the video and mux with the .mp2

Is that the Spiderman movie? I haven't seen that yet

Thanks for the tip, I will give that try. And yes it was the opening scene from Spiderman, the quality of that particular rip was a little below average but watchable on the TV.
Thx

hi Dang Donkey,

I forgot to mention that I did try frameserving your test clip to CCE 2.50 and that worked no problem. CCE created a .mpv (video file) and a .mpa (audio file) that I muxed with BBMpeg selecting mpeg-2.

I've read complaints from other people about CCE 2.64 not reading their .AVS files so I'd probably just stick with 2.50

I finally figured it out. The error "The" in CCE is due to a plugin not being loaded or found. The fix was to simply download the latest mpeg2dec.dll.
This was my problem all along, I thought I had the most current version but I didn't. I now have no problems with the filters or scripts being loaded in CCE 2.64. Just convert the AVS with VFAPIconfig and load it into CCE.
Thx for the help guys.
