BicublinResize

Has anyone used this resize filter by MarcFD see here and in Doom forum

here which gives me an impression thats it real fast.

It states in the avisynth docs that :

Code:

FastBicubic is a unfiltered Bicubic resampler.
Bicublin use bicubic on Y plane and bilinear on UV planes.

What does it mean by the "unfiltered" in the Fastbicubic ??

How does the Bicublin using different methods on Y and UV planes help/benefit the Video ???

Can someone explain this, so that I can finally test them out.thanks

Not an explanation but an advice : just forget this resizer.

Hi Phil,
Care to tell us why?
Is it because it bluries too much?
Just to know why, you see?
Cheers

I would have say that it creates pixels where nothing existed before :-)

Artifacts if you prefer.

it seems this resizer fits in the same category as billinearresize and pointresize..... As Dailhot said, not good imo.

There's nothing wrong with BilinearResize, just don't use it for upsizing.
