Smartphone / PDA Encoding scripts

Re the above recently i have been experimenting with smartphone resolutions and looking at some older posts on the subject. I have the template sorted ok but found the output lousy compared to the normal MP4 convertor software i was using. Problem is i dont like MP4's filesizes even on a 1GB card. I would like to use KVCD films on my phone instead but am having problems with AVS and resolutions. Avs wont accept the smartphone resolutions i.e. 176x220 etc and this creates further problems in TMPGEnc etc later. My question is, is there a way to run these kind of resolutions through an AVS script to clean up the produced movie at those small resolutions etc. I am out of ideas.
