Multiplexing Issues...

Hi all!!

Hey I'm really getting annoyed by this, can someone please explain?
I've got a video file which is exactly 710 MB, the audio file is 92.7 MB, together that's 802.7 MB !

But it's just not. Muxing them together with BBMPEG it gives me a file that is 813 MB... that's too much for overburning.

What am I doing wrong?

I am not an expert, but I think that the BBMPEG muxing adds some info to the stream, so the resulting filesize is somewhat bigger than the sum of the both audio and video streams.

I could safely put 809 mb in a 80 min disk with a small 11 sec overburning.

Perhaps you could give it a try, instead of reencoding the whole movie. You could also trim some 10 or 20 second of the ending titles to make it fit. Or perhaps reencode the audio using lower quality setting.

Hope it helps until some expert comes to this post.

You forgot the system stream which is added by bbMPEG. 92.7 + 710 = 802.7, but (92.7 + 710) * (2048 / 2018) = 814 :).
