Had same problem. Run your system Defrag or Norton Speed Disk on all Drives. At least for me this fixed the problem.

I had problems with TMPGEnc encoding overnight. It halted because of the hard drive powering off.

Check if the Windows power management is activated. If so, try disabling the HD power down feature.

It worked for me.

This could also be caused by bad frames or corruption in the divx file.

Does it stop at the same place each time?

you can try divxfix
it has a basic error check, although it can fix the stream it can also desync the audio. I personally use Virtual dub to remove corrupt frames as it has no such problems.

G'day Bman,

You can use divxfix or similar to identify bad frames and corruption.

Once you have identified the corrupt frame you can delete them with virtualdub using the mark in and mark out buttons ( to the left of the frame count) it depends on the extent of the corruption and the length of key frames for the file as to how much you will need to delete.

Check this guide on using virtual dub to cut and join as all you are doing is cutting out bad bits of a file.

urban tec is there any program that fixes the bad parts by its self?

My file has about 100 corrupt frames and would take ages for me to do in Vdub

G'day MrCoopz,

Divxfix will do it but doesnt keep the audio in sync (it doesnt remove the corresponding audio frames) that is why I use vdub, if the frames are all together it may be easier to remove a block rather than individual frames, either way it is a lot of work. I am not familiar with any other prog that can do it for you.

Just load the avi file and put a tick in the "cut out bad parts box then click check for errors, this will save a copy of the file to the location you specify.

Make sure you make a backup of the file before you do this just in case.

when you open the app there is a field at the top of the window where you can specify the working directory, have a look in the readme I think it is mentioned there
