Avisynth: Scripts for VRO files?

Ran the DVD rip script. file size was great, picture was great, however when played back on my Pioneer 343 the picutre would only show on the lower left bottom of the TV Screen, on my Panasonic LV55 portable it would play about 2 min and kick back to the start of the movie in a loop. Using your new template. System is running WIN 2000 Pro.

On the script for the VRO (different system running WIN 2000 Pro) I get the following win error whe loading the script file

"Read Error accure at address 003003 of module TMPGEnc with 0000000"

I only get this when trying to run with the AVS script file.

What did I do wrong?

Did a review of the FitCD Script for the VRO it appears that TMPGEnc did not like the line "Decimate(cycle-5,mode=0,threshold=0" So I deleted that line and loaded the script again. I am now running the script in TMPGEnc to see how it will come out, at least this time it accepted the file. I will also review the DVD-Rip script and see how that will come out. With all your assistance I think I am begining to understand the importance of the FitCD process, it saves a lot of time. At first I did not see where you loaded the d2v in Fit CD , after reviewing your guide for the VRO settings it hit me how to load all the others. Great work.........I will let you know my results.

That's strange 8O because I always use the script with the telecide and the decimate on my .VRO's!.
Let me know how it comes out!.

VRO Process

the DID Rip process had a audio sync problem, it was off 1/2 secs. Picture was great.

The VRO process came out good in size, but the aspect ratio may have a problem, the original VRO was recorded in Wide Screen format, so when the conversion came out it was not right, the picuture was squeezed, if you can understand that term, still cant get TMPGEnc to accept the decimate, it will accept the telecide. So I guess I should change the aspect ratio if the original is WideScreen and leave it at the default if it was full screen, please advise.

VRO files:
OK now that I am thoroughly confused let me explain what happened. Two things first, in one of your responses you said to be sure to set the BilinearRezise(352,480,0,0,352,480) that one is in your guide for the VRO files, and in a response to me you said to be sure to set it for BilinearRezise(352,480,0,0,704,480) . I tested using your 352x480 template (film) and when played back it was only on half of the screen, picture was great, sound was not in sync by about 1-2 sec, at times it would come back in sync. I had no problems this time with any of the filters, TMPEnc loaded all, I just did a total re-install of all the filters, so that?s not an issue any longer. Size for the CD is great, now if I can just get the full picture and get the sound problem fixed I?ll be a happy camper. I have learned a lot about the AVISynth process, so that is not an issue, at least now, will just have to hold that one in my maybe column for now. After I load your template what should be changed prior to conversion if anything? The only one I have is the NTSC 352x480 (Film), if my original VRO was in widescreen should anything be changed? Sorry to keep bugging you about all this but I do what to get it down right. I would prefer to have just one disk as I do a lot of traveling and carrying too many disk is not an option.

Hi Bud:

Your choices are to try and re-mux as SVCD, fool around with the VBV buffer, change the encoding mode from CQ to MVBR, or increase the MIN bit rate to 600Kbps or so.

If none of those options work, then I assume that your DVD player just doesn't like the extended resolution.

My DVD Player is the Pioneer DV 343, never had problems playing just about everything (SVCD/XVCD/VCD etc). So would I need to make some more adjustments to your template? Many thanks

Success! It appears that my Pioneer will not, repeat will not accept 352x480 mode, just as soon as I dropped it down to 352x240 it worked great with your template, I am now going to test out your new templates on the VRO’s. So many thanks go out to you and your patience’s.
