I'm trying to encode an avi file that has many high motion sequences.
For a few days now I tried different filters and settings and the result always comes out rather poor in quality.
I wanted a SVCD in 1 CD but I'm okay with 2 CDs.
Does anyone have any suggestions on the script I should use?

Thanks!

Now, to answer to your question : high action scenes are affected by MAX video birate you set. The higher, the better. But of course you will probably have to go to 2 CD.
Which value did you used as min and mx video bitrate ? Which is the lenght in minutes of your movie ?

I used a max bitrate of 3000 kb/s, and min 64 kb/s. And the movie length is 116 mins.
By the way, the quality of the avi is fine...

Definetely yes !
I'm surprised you see problems only on high action scenes ! With such length, such max bitrate and such resolution, the CQ used is very low and that has nothing to do with the actionness (even if of course, this element makes things even worse).

What is the CQ used ? If under 60, go on 2 CD with the exact same parameters and all will be okay !
