Nice speed improvements for both AMD and Intel people, supports newer DVD2AVI versions than v1.76 too. Two new iDCT algos and lots of fixes

@ovg64: "src" is short for "source". This is the source files required to rebuild the binary. If you don't have plans for modifying the program you don't need it.

@ all.

* Accepts both dvd2avi 1.77.3 & 1.76 d2v files

thanks boulder for reminding us of these updates.. however, I'm curious as
to how do we handle .D2V files w/ VFAPI, when we need to create an
psuedo .AVI file. I prefer this route, to feed into vdub and do some filtering
and then finally, feed into TMPG for encoding.

Currently, I can't seem to setup my 2nd pc w/ VFAPI to create the psuedo
.AVI files for vdub to eat. Kee's giving me an error message when I drag
this file into vdub.. something like, "cannot determine file type.."

Any insights on either issues ?? ..thanks

It must be the same thing as it was with MPEG2DEC3 earlier. VFAPI expects a certain format, and when that format was changed, it screwed up the compatibility. The author of VFAPI would have to fix his little program to accept the newer DVD2AVI format. As Nic is now developing both DVD2AVI and MPEG2DEC3, it was quite obvious that the incompatibility problem would be fixed at some point.

@ Boulder..

I'm confused.. cause this is killing me - - not be able to do an DVD encodes
(.d2v) and what not w/ latest AVIsynth v2.52 and Filters designed for this
version.

I'm also confused because why is it that others here are having NO ISSUES
but only I am ??

On my MAIN PC:
* I use dvd2avi v1.76
...and save as either YUV or RGB (both works for me w/ no issues)
* VFAPI to a psuedo .AVI file and
* feed this .AVI file into vdub w/ no issue

On my 2ND PC:
* I use dvd2avi v1.76
...and save as either YUV or RGB (both works for me w/ no issues) ***
* VFAPI to a psuedo .AVI file and
* feed this .AVI file into vdub, and you guessed it, BLACK SCREEN or
...no video or it crashes vdub or whatever. But, I found that if I drag in my
...psuedo .AVI file into vdub and press the play button, I'll have least NOT
...crash my setup, and I can scrull inside the time-line, but video screen
...is BLACK. As noted below, all my failed attempts were based on a
...dvd2avi w/ RGB mode instead of yuv.

*** note, I only tried w/ RGB. Maybe, if time allows, I'll try YUV, just in
case something is screwed up on my 2ND pc

Thanks for you response Boulder. You wer the first to, after a week of waiting

You got me there..I don't know much about using VFAPI, it's been about 1,5 years since I last used it. That's the difficulty in this issue, most people use Avisynth or DVD2SVCD or Gordian Knot so VFAPI is no longer needed. The knowledge there was is now long forgotten
