I though I was going to try to make a one disc encode of Lord of the Rings (Extended version - PAL). But I figure that if it's gonna fit on one disc I will have to encode it at 352x288 and I probably need a filter to get rid of macroblocks, right? Recommendations and settings are more than welcome! What maximum bitrate should I use to get the same effect as LB or ULB templates? If I forgot anything important please enlighten me!

EDIT: Should I use Bilinear resize instead of Bicubic? I saw somewhere that Bilinear produces smaller files?

BTW, what maximum bitrate should I use? I don't think that was mentioned in the post you directed me to, was it?

Well I got to admit it was a 99 min. CD-R, but yes I used a maximum of 1900 kb/sec. Results came out great with the script that I posted!

Well I specified a Max. Bitrate of 1900kb/sec and a Min. Bitrate of 300kb/sec in TMPGEnc and used CQ mode, so that the bitrate will vary between these two values throughout the movie according to the motion.

My guess would be that Jellygoose used ToK.

@Jellygoose,
Have you tried encoding the movie again... with the latest "revised" adaptive script? And I'm asking you again - please enlighten us on how you did with the subs and how you got that high CQ value??!

@audioslave:

No I haven't tried it with the newest script yet, and I'm actually not planning on yet. I'm gonna wait another 6 months or so and see what we have achieved until then!

As for CQ and subs, read here:
