Avisynth: Difference between MA script and optimal script?

What is the difference between the MA script & optimal script, if any?

I have seen both mentioned but cannot find the MA script, only the optimal one.

I am eager to get the best results from my encodes but alas, I know nothing about the scripts to use to achieve this.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Hi mistermickster,

The MA (motion adaptive) script is the optimal script (for avisynth version 2.5x).

If you click on the "Latest Scripts" stickypost at the top of the Optimal Scripts Forum, you will find both an avisynth version 2.0x optimal script, and an avisynth 2.5x optimal script listed. The 2.5x optimal script is more advanced since it uses motion-adaption techniques that are not available in avisynth 2.0x (i.e., extra blurring/smoothing only during fast scenes that the naked eye can't detect much, leading to higher quality encodes).
