TMPGenc / ReadAVS.dll can not be loaded?

I would like to start using scrips for my KVCDs, but I can not seem to get TMPGenc to recognize the ReadAVS.dll. I followed the instructions in the provided .zip file I got from this site, but no luck. I have TMPGenc Plus 2.52 and AVISynth 2.08. I have no clue what is happening, I followed the instruction perfectly, over and over. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thankyou

Did you use double "\" in the reg file ?

Eric 11-14-2003 06:45 AM

I sure did.
I copied .dll to TMPGenc folder
changed path of reg to the .dll folder location
After doing this, I see the .dll in the AFAPI plugins, but it also states that the file can not loaded in the AFAPI "Name" column

I had exactly the same problems.

Watch the path within the installer/registration file where you can find what has to be entered in your Windows registration.

Open Regedit .... choose the path like included in the installer (mentioned above) and enter the Values manually inkl. the right path to your ReadAVS.dll (TmpgEnc Appl. Folder)

Reinstall tmpgenc and redo the procedure to see if that helps.

I will try the regedit thing tonight and see what happens. I never played with reg files before, so I hope I don't mess anything up. When I open regedit, do I enter the name of the reg file I am looking for and go from there?
If that doesn't work, I guess I will have to reinstall everything.
One more question. I noticed that AVISynth 2.08 came with filters and Moviestacker (latest one) also came with filters. Will there be a conflict between the two filter files? I have moviestacker in one folder and avisynth in another. I have so many questions, but I will look around the forums more before asking them. Thanx

YOu do not need to open regedit ! You just have to double click on the .reg file and a window pops up asking "do you want to merge this file to the registry database". Click yes, and that's all.

For the filters and avs2.08 : there is no conflict possible because with this version of avs you must indicate in your script the path for each filter with the line "loadplugin".

I did double click on the reg and it registered. Like I said, I followed the intructions step, by step

Can yo post here your reg file and the length and date of the readavs.dll file please ?

Eric 11-14-2003 06:30 PM

Here is the reg file that I edited. But what does this mean? [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\VFPlugin
Do I need a plugin? I am completely lost. If it's this hard just to get this to work, I am really worried about even using avisynth

The date on the .dll is 8/10/1997???????????????????????

REGEDIT4

; Replace the path below with the real path to the DLL.
; Be sure to type each backslash twice, as in the example.

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\VFPlugin]
"Avisynth"="c:\\Applications_Programs\\MovieEditin g\\TMPGEnc.Plus.v2.52\\ReadAVS.dll"
