Avisynth: optimal script for dvd sources?

You have promised your optimal script for dvd sources but I haven´t seen it yet? Can you post it?

I do not have such script so it's hard to promise it :-)

I have scripts for avi->kvcd that can be use for every medium/bad quality sources encoded with a DCT based codec (mpeg4/mpeg1/mpeg2). That means tjat I recommand it for instance for making VCD -> KVCD or SVCD -> KVCD.

But for clean sources, MA script has better result. Even if I do not use it personnaly (that's perhaps what you read).

Kwag explained why there is this "sharpening then bluring" operation in the script but I never stuck with the explanation and, like you, I prefer to remove it (and use Lanczosresize to obtain an sharper image than with bicubic).

Okay ! I remember.

I was talking about my adaptation of MA script ! But in fact all is explained in the line you quoted !

Remove the Asharp line and use "Lanczosresize" to obtain a sharper image. That's all you have to do.
