with the newest ma script, i get smaller file sizes when encoding in mpeg2. kvcdx3 mpeg1 gives me much bigger file sizes which is really weird.

strange....

Did you left all other settings (GOP etc.) the same, ..... so did you just ONLY change from mpeg1 to mpeg2 mode?

the newest one. i was encoding a movie called dark asylum which is 1.85:1 non-anamorphic and is a very dark, medium action movie.
