Hi,

As always, phil, you're right! I move to beonex 2 month ago, and uncheck the popup checkbox just 2 weeks ago... Just checked it again, and I now, I see this 'you've got a PM' popup! :oops:

Case 2:
jorel spots a problem with the FuPPscrip.
Hours later, the new script appears here: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.ph...p&pagenumber=9
but no mention about jorel's findings

Funny, isn't it
I've just spotted that in another thread on this Forum (written by Kwag)

@Kwag,

Could you please explain to me what you are talking about ? The version available on doom9 is the 0.84b which is the one that I originally brought to you in this forum.

Then Jorel suggested me a problem with chroma and I corrected it in 0.85a WHICH I POSTED HERE AND WHICH IS EVEN NOT AVAILABLE ON DOOM9 !!!! You can download D9's version if you don't trust me.

0.85a (posted only here) means 0.85 ALPHA ! and is not an official release. I only made it to show me reactive to Jorel and others here requests ! The script on D9 is a previous version !

I had seen your post on D9 but I only thought it was a kind of cross-advertising for KVCD forum, and did not get there were a kind of reproch !

You have probably been mistaken by time displayed on my posts (here and on doom9) which is not correct (because not correctlly tweaked in my profile on this forum).

I am deeply disappointed by you Kwag, judging and condemning a little too fast for my taste

Hi FuPP,

As you said, this was probably a misunderstanding related to post times.
At least that's the way I see it now.
We are very irritated at some issues, between the behaviour of some users at doom9 and us here at KVCD.Net.
If you read one of jorel's posts, you'll see the kind of answers that he's got from users at doom9, and even doom9 (user) himself. Where he states that for him, KVCD is a joke.
I have a strong opinion related to "Standards", and that's the main reason KVCD.Net was created. If doom9 and company likes to stick to standards, then be it, but let other who like to push technology to the edge like use alone.
There are a lot of good things that have come out of doom9, and there are also a LOT of good things that have come out of KVCD.Net. They all fill different needs, and are both highly advanced ( software, scripts, etc. )
So I'm sorry about the misunderstanding.

So do I, so do I...
Even though I didn't post anything about FuPP.
But I must admit I also made the same judgement as Karl.
I feel very embarrassed for my conduct.
Please accept our apologies.
Cheers

I do not have any opinion about D9 and I do not have any opinions about KVCD.net

All that kind of considerations are definitively not my business.

I am only a simple user of this and some other forums, and if you or Jorel felt mistreated by other forums users, you can easily understand how I feel right now.

news:

i and FuPP change some (lots) pms and everything is ok, or better,
was,still and of course remains ok!.

his work is cool and have my adimiration but
the best is his friendship and wise to understand and solve this all.
...in the end we see that the sincerity and friendship is the prize for us all

we're back to this great thread!

best regards FuPP !

rds_correia 03-21-2004 02:38 PM

Phew!...,
Those are great news Jorel.
I wouldn't want anyone to leave us thinking of us something wrong.
I hope FuPP (and others) understands that there have been lot's of problems between some
regular kvcd forum users and regular doom9 users.
I mean most of us can feel the difference between d9 forum and kvcd or vcdhelp forum.
Newbies hardly can grow up there because they don't loose too many time explaining.
On the opposite, here we try to share with everybody (even newbies) what we learn or discover.
Though, there are lot's of great guys there too.
We've welcomed lot's of them here too!
Maybe the latest ones are Milan and FuPP :roll:
And I think we always give warm welcomes here.
So I hope: no hard feelings, ok everybody?
Cheers

FuPP is a great person too, wise and simple, he is not arrogant or angry.
like i posted, we are starting a mature friendship !

Now that everyone is cool... can I interject with a question? :oops:

I would love to try the newer versions of HybridFuPP, but anything above version 0.71b is causing me a lot of grief! I keep getting the elusive Illegal Floating Decimal Point Error, with version 0.84b. I tried changing the CQ to as low as 69, but that didn't help. I didn't try to change the VBV buffer size to 0 because I read about that possibly leading to other problems. Has anyone else been experiencing more errors than usual with TMPGEnc when using version 0.84b? I should add that I have NEVER had this error before when using any other script.

Thanks all!

Peter1234 03-21-2004 09:11 PM

Icarus3000,
I did a lot of testing with HybridFuPP_071_b without any problems. I did not try HybridFuPP 0.84b. I did try HybridFuPP 0.854a and was unable to get it to run because of an error in HybridFuPP 0.854a calling Deen.

Peter1234 03-21-2004 09:45 PM

Icarus3000,
I just tried HybridFuPP 0.84b using defaults and HybridFuPP(352, 240, Preset="High") and both worked OK.

Be sure to use the latest masktools (1.4.15). Avisynth version must be 2.55.

Do you experience any problem running HybridFuPP in Virtualdub for instance ?

FuPP

Icarus3000 03-22-2004 07:49 AM

FuPP:

Is Masktool 1.4.15 a new version since version 0.71 of your script was released?

I'm at work now, but will confirm this evening that I have all the updated .dlls . I am pretty sure I updated to Avisynth 2.55 already.

Thanks!

Icarus

yop, it is !

audioslave 03-22-2004 03:37 PM

@FuPP
I'm running AviSynth 2.5.4 and the older MaskTools 1.4.9(? I think) and I have no problems with HybidFuPP 0.85a... 8O

FuPP 03-22-2004 04:09 PM

Maybe a bug has been introduced in a version, corrected in the next one. I use 1.4.15 and the best is to use the same :)

Btw, Icarus3000, I'd like to know the version of each plugin and the type of source used (avi ?)

I have something else in mind, probably stupid but... Is your machine overclocked ?

FuPP

Peter1234 03-22-2004 04:11 PM

For me, HybridFuPP 0.71b and HybridFuPP 0.84b work good but HybridFuPP 0.85a gives script error: invalid arguments to function “deen” for lines 112 and 88 of HybridFuPP. I am using Deen for avisynth 2.5 - beta 2 which is the lastest I can find, Masktool 1.4.15, Avisynth 2.55, and default parameters for HybridFuPP.

Not at all !
This deen version is 2 years old. The last one is called "1.0 Beta 1" and was release the August 13 2003 (the size is also twice the previous one : 240KB). It can be found here :

http://atlas2.tgv.net/~media-video/f...c9c1b3be9b4655

I recommand you tu use it at it is far more efficient than the old one.

Peter1234 03-22-2004 05:13 PM

FuPP,
Evaluation: each version of HybridFuPP is a little bit better. On my high motion test clip, HybridFuPP 0.85a made slightly smaller files (6,715,396 bytes vs 6,807,556 bytes), encode time was slightly faster (1:22 vs 1:23), and seemed to have slightly better quality than HybridFuPP 0.84b. I used HybridFuPP(352, 240, Preset="High") encoding to KDVD at CQ70 with TMPGEnc.

Peter1234 03-22-2004 05:23 PM

Thanks Dialhot,
As you see, I have trouble finding the latest versions of DLLs.

FuPP 03-22-2004 05:33 PM

As suggested by someone in another forum, I will probably provide in the future all necessary Dlls in HybridFuPP's package. As long as I provide them within their original package, I think that all the authors should agree.

FuPP

Jellygoose 03-23-2004 07:22 AM

I'm going to try HybridFupp the next days, trying to put my Two Towers Extended Edition at VCD resolution on 1 CD-R with 112kb/sec audio. I tried that in November I recall, but wasn't satisfied at all with quality. We'll see what this new technique will bring us... :lol:
I guess I'll try ffvfw on this low bitrate project... 8)

i was thinking in post something only to do the
HybridFuPP thread up to the top again....
but .....is not a good idea (you know what i mean)!
better is another member do this!

What a strange idea Jorel ! Why do you want HybridFuPP's thread to be artificially up ? I'm not looking for fame ! :)

Btw, It will be upper when I will post a new version. I have already improved a few things, like filtering chain and debug mode, but not sure it deserves a new release now.

FuPP

@ Jellygoose : good luck !

@ all......please:

do a sample (little chapter or use trim) with this script and post your opinion!

mpeg2source("D:\toystory1\1.D2V")

Asharp(1,3)
Levels(0,1.04,255,0,255)

GripCrop(720,480,overscan=1,source_anamorphic=true ,dest_anamorphic=false)
BicubicResize(GripFit_resize_width,GripFit_resize_ height,0,0.6)

HybridFuPP(720, 480, Preset="High", Chroma=False)

#GripBorders()

#function fmin( int f1, int f2) {
# return ( f1<f2 ) ? f1 : f2
#}

Function HybridFupp(clip input, int "width", int "height", int "E_Thr", int "ST_Str", int "SP_Str", int "sharp_x", \
int"sharp_y", int "M_Thr", int "M_SCD",int "Nresizer", int "Eresizer", bool "chroma", bool "dering", \
bool "special", int "special_Thr", string "preset", int "debug")
{
}

GripBorders()
ConvertToYUY2()
#trim(13000,14000)

thanks in advance!
:)

something wrong in the script?
please, show the corrections!

i encode toy story 1 using this script for test.
my own opinion?

A
HUGE problem !

You redefine the Hybrid function into your script so the original one is never used ! That is yours that is used, and this one does... NOTHING !

Why do you have this line ?
Code:

Function HybridFupp(clip input, int "width", int "height", int "E_Thr", int "ST_Str", int "SP_Str", int "sharp_x", \
int"sharp_y", int "M_Thr", int "M_SCD",int "Nresizer", int "Eresizer", bool "chroma", bool "dering", \
bool "special", int "special_Thr", string "preset", int "debug")
{
}

:?: :?: :?:

Note : preset "Hight" use Lanczosresize as resizer. You use that in common with asharp and level. Don't you find this "ants" you don't like in lanczos when you encode with that ?
I love lanczos but I found "Hight" preset too much. I rather use "medium".
