great liteon just updated the lvd2002 firmware (finally those ** grrrrrr)
i have that player and i will do some divx encoding to play with subtitles and all.

i have a question here, does anyone have a nice script for encoding divx xvid from vhs sources (interlaced ntsc 29.97)?
and also for progrsive clean material (mostly DV pal)?

i want to put the biggest amount of of my kids vhs tapes in cdrs and make some room for my tv (some are really old, like bambi. 3 caballeros etc the new ones ive got on dvd are already kvcd

i tried the ULBR kvcd but i didnt get good results, i am wiling to try newest xvid as i heard it has really improved.

but i want to play with this player :P, and perhaps get some more movie per cd, but if possible i would love some script like the MA one, will it work for mpeg4? or is it just the same as it is framserved?

Thare is a thread called "optimal script" in both KVCD and avi->kvcd section of the forum.
You should look at there

But there is no MA DivX/XviD to KVCD/KDVD yet.
We are waiting for V5.

@arana: As you said, you are frameserving your video to the XviD encoder, then, I think, you can use Kwag's Optimal Script or Dialhot's V series, according what kind of source have you. But I think too, it would be better if you can capture directly to XviD or DivX.

The problem is the continous blurring of MA even at low movement, therefore a blurry Divx (a heavy compressed one) will get even more blurred and that was the point very often said by phil.

BUT what makes sense is also an conditional handling of mpeg4 sources!

So (and since some weeks Im working on that) we should use the ydifferencetonnext() command here also.
Maybe at low movement scenes a CPU=4 and on heavy motion scenes (where blocks do appear very fast on heavy compressed mpeg4) we could let work a CPU=6 ... in the BlindPP() command .... but thats just one thing.
Resumee ... Optimal V5 or V6 should also work a bit conditional/adaptive

hmm incredible, maybe i didnt explain myself, my final encode will be xvid, and my source is clean.

prodater same as above, im not trying to encode an mpeg4 to kvcd

im trying to use some script to get the best result possible for dvd or DV to xvid

i only use some vdub filters ocasionally, but i would love to use something like the ma scripts here.

but for final being xvid i dont know what to take into consideration.

Then you post in the wrong forum. Nobody here deal with Xvid or divx or mpeg4 at all.

arana...

The statement of Abond wasn't meant that offensinve!

But for shure as via avisynth an uncompressed signal will be delivered, it doesn't matter which encoder you do choose.

So shurely you can use MA also if the target would be mpeg1/2/4 or even mjpeg or DV.

And so my answer above still gots its sense as its encoder independend and beside that I was refering to the SOURCE

Thank you again incredible.

its just it did read like a mpeg4 hater to me,
wich i dont really care as long as theres something useful in the answer , like yours

sorry if mine was offensive, its just i stated my purpose in the first post of the thread.

btw, i tried and results do look better than using straight capture to xvid , not much but i think this is due to vhs age and conditions, i will try with some other cartoon, as those are the ones that give me headaches. (specially with lots of colors)

Actually the answer was just a way to say "that will be hard to find an advice here as noone tested this by himself because we do not do MPEG4 encoding. You should try by yourself".

And I see that is what you did..; so in fact you received a very helpfull (no)answer
