Problems converting to PocketPC format

Firstly I'm glad to be back. Its been a loooooooong time since I was last here but I have now seen the light and returned

I was wondering if someone out there could help me with convert a couple of DVD's into a PocketPC format.

I've stripped off the VOB's and converted them down to .avi using DVD2AVI and now all I think I need is help with the last TMPGEnc part.

When I play them on the PocketPC (XDA II - as powerful as they come) they are either blocky or the movie jumps. Its certainly not smooth.

Can anyone help me ?

Thanks

Jas

Hi Jas,

Read about Mencoder in the forum, and download this player: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/pocketpc/pocketdivx.html

Note: Mencoder is best in MPEG-2, but you'll have to encode MPEG-1, because PocketPC players don't play MPEG-2.
But I've tried Mencoder and TMPEG at very low resolutions ( 176x120) and the results are very good.
