what should I look for in a capture card ?

Hi All

Can you guys please let me know what I should look for in a capture card ?? What I would like to do is mainly capture from TV (maybe digital) and copy my home video from a camcorder. There are some many out there I need to narrow down the selection.

What are the basic needs for a really good card. Hardware encoder, Stereo in, S-Video, Stable Drivers ????? I would like to spend about $200.

I like to thank you guys for all the insight on this. Your help is much appreciated. And thanks again to Kwag for such a great site, useful info and helpful community. :D :D :D :D

hmm, this is a subjective topic,..
i like the ATI All-In-Wonder Radeons...with MMC 7.x and the drivers from either rageunderground.com or 3drage.com.
I hear Dazzle is good. WinTv is one a lot of members use.
Pinnacle is okay, software is decent, drivers suck imo....
