Captured Video has too many drop frames
Hi people!
I've got a win tv go and I try to capture vhs with virtualdub. It doesn't work:too many drop frames. I've got the last drivers I see i must to use on this forum. At any resolutions it's the same problem. I've got this message: audio lost during capture, reduce the capture frequence. It doesn't work even at the min audio frequence. Other problem: i've got green lines in the preview. Thanks for your help. ARAGORN |
Ar,
what video drivers/DirectX/AudioDrivers and/or chipset (sis, via, intel) does your pc have? Are you using the virtualdub_synch version to capture as well? Have you tried other capture programs like Avi_io? zTr |
Hi
I've got the last video drivers for my S3 ProSavage4 3D AGP 8MO, direct x 8.0 ,iuse crystal vdm audio, chipset via. My config is a amd duron 900Mghz , 256 MO SDRAM, I've got two hard drives. I've tried with other captures program( also virtual synch). I lost more frames than i'm capture. Is there a solution? ARAGORN |

I was using an AMD 700 with an ASUS card, I was dropping frames when I tried to cap and compress in one motion, what format are you capturing? Also, VirtualDub uses the old VFW format, most new (last 3 years) hardware uses the more efficient WDM format. VirtualDub does have a "WDM wrapper" but most of the time it does not work. I now have an ASUS graphics card with video In and a Winnov Videum card. I have gone back to using the capture utility for the specific card, then edit in VirtualDub and convert in TMPGEnc. you also do not mention your OS. Win98SE or WinXp would be my suggestions (WinXP is much better). If you were unlucky enough to get stuck with WinME, dump it and upgrade fast, lol The above are just my personal opinions found through testing on my machine and on my clients machines during the 7 years I have been a computer consultant. |
Hi willy_annand!
I've got windows me. Is it such horrible? Must i change of graphic card? I try to capture at 352x576 with sourceforge.net drivers but it seems to work only in preview mode. The green lines was a problem of saturation, i've solved it. I've tried another program that have captures capabilities and i lost a few frames but when i cature in yuy2 the result is in accelerate. In rgb24 the image is as it was dark!In yuy2 there is also big lines green and black that appears occasionnaly. I don't know if you can help me more but thanks in advance. ARAGORN |
