AVS Filters for TV captured media

Which AVS filters should I use for:

Virtualvcr capture at 640x480 MJPEG when encoding with KVCD templates?

I am presently changing the KVCD templates to 29.97fps, full screen.

FaeryDust() alone works wonders but is slow. You could also try this:
SpaceDust() or Convolution3D(preset="vhsBQ") and TemporalCleaner() or TemporalSmoother()..

Using FaeryDust() and fluxsmooth()
Using Telecide() and Decimate()

Getting near perfect captures, but small motion jerks. Is there a more effective smoother? I need the best possible.

P4 2.53GHz
WinTVGO 190
VirtualVCR 640x480 MJPEG 19
Headac3he
KVCDx3 Mpeg 1
BBMPEG
Nero

Hi nicksteel,

Check and see if the small jerks are present in your capture. If they are, they will also be present in your encode :roll:

Checked my capture avi in VirtualDub. No jerks. It may be caused by Telecide() and Decimate(). It is a capture of Farside from tv. I'll try 29.97 in TEMPGEnc.

Changed to 29.97 and jerks went away. Picture quality suffers a little, but everything is smooth. I suppose Telecide() and Decimate() don't work with video captures.
