WinDVR 1.8 installation

I purchased a full, sealed copy of WinDVR 1.8 and am having trouble installing. I use WindowsXP. Everything seems to go normal during installation, but when I try to run the program itself, I get the Windows has detected an error message and I can get no further. Has anyone else had this problem. I am also contacting InterVideo.

i havent bothered with windvr, though it came with my other video card or motherboard or the two, anyway,,
i have had probs on my xp box with certain appz like wdvr...
See if there's any clues on the Readme file .
I solved mine by having to Start the "Server under Services". For some reason it was turned off. It needed it for installing it.

If no satisfactory answer from intervideo tech's try some of their forums
if any. Or one of our members may have the same app as you.

I believe WinDVR 1.8 is pre XP and as a result runs choppy. I think the only tip I can give is try running in compatibility mode. You are eligible for a discount for WinDVR 3.0 I believe and it is by far the best real-time mpeg capture pogram I have ever tried (except for maybe MMC if you have a lot of patience and are willing to do a lot of research).
