Hi there, I have an old Askey TView99 card which I bought several years ago and it works fine.

When I record from the card it can only do it as an avi file. New TVcards can record to MPeg1/2. With my old card I have to record the avi file and then encode using TMPGenc to Mpeg1.

Does anyone recommend a good tvcard that can record and encode to Mpeg format and thus allowing me to good to bed at a reasonable hour and not having to wake up in the early hours of the morning

Thanks in advance!!

Stay away from the I/O Magic card (a repackaged pinnacle PCTV pro). It has install issues.
