WinTV-PVR 350 fm tuner

I'm trying to decide whether to get the 250 or 350 for my MythTV. The 350 advertizes an fm tuner but how good is the antenna? There's I few local stations here in San Jose that I don't like and I wonder if the 350 antenna is good enough to pick up some of the San Francisco stations :?:

Hi ren,

I'm not sure if the 350 is fully supported by MythTV.
I know that the TV-Out doesn't work, and you have to find some patches or so to make it work.
The only difference from the 250 to the 350, is that the 350 has TV-Out/FM radio, and the 250 does not.
Can't say about the FM reception, because I have the 250.

350 has a hardware MPEG-2 decoder, 250 doesn't. I wouldn't trust the FM tuner to be any better than a regular radio. At least the WinTV Theatre needed a good antenna.

I was thinking that too- this might be sort of a useless feature  I don't know if I'd need the card's mpeg decoding function either since I'm going to get a video card with tv-out

Hi ren,

I have an old nVidia chipset card with S-Video out. I suggest you get one of the newer cards. They suggest just about any nVidia card. Check here: http://www.mythtv.org/docs/mythtv-HOWTO-3.html#ss3.1 and scroll down to the TV cards section.
