Hi all,

I'm thinking of getting a capture card for my PC and would like to know what people regard as the best option.

I don't want to spend too much on it and have shortlisted either the Pinnacle PC/TV Stereo PAL Card or the Hauppauge WinTV-GO Analogue TV tuner.

Which is the better of the two? Can both be used with the free software that can be downloaded, like Virtual VCR and VirtualDub.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Mr.Mickster,

if you don't wont spend that much money on an analogue card you have to choose a card where the compression will be done using the machines CPU while capturing.

I would recommend in that cas a little pinnacle PCtv as its seems that it gives good outputs even it uses a bt878 chip. Seems it gots some of that needed antialiasing routines/filters on it. But to NOT choose the TCtvRave as it only comes with a mono-tuner!

I think the Pinnacle card I've seen is indeed the Rave I'll have to have a serious think on this.
