Nice Network Radio (music) application
VERY nice little Network Radio application, written in PureBasic.
Grab it here: http://dbp.cool.ne.jp/software/NetRadioOrya.zip I found it here: http://purebasic.myforums.net/viewtopic.php?t=11781 So follow that thread for future updates :) -kwag |
@kwag,
COOL!!!!! 8) I'm listening to some Old School 80's rock and this is the BOMB!!!!!! :mrgreen: Since it's streaming audio there is an occasional pause, but that's not a big distraction :wink: -BP |
Thanks Karl, I wanted to find some sort of network radio to listen on my PC thanks. :D
To top it off this has been written with the brilliant PureBasic. :D |
Cool, isn't it :D
Beats having to browse ShoutCast, and then searching, etc. :cool: -kwag |
@Kwag,
Just tried "StationRipper" with some URL's from NetRadioOrya :wink: It seperates songs into mp3 files with title names, etc. 8) Have you tried StationRipper :?: It's perfectly legal for personal use. -BP |
Hi BP,
Yes, indeed, I learned about Station Ripper just two days ago :lol: I was trying to use it with this: http://www.the-basement-site.com/english/ But it didn't work because that station uses IceCast, so it didn't work. -kwag |
@Kwag,
Interested in becoming a tester for StationRipper beta v2.0 :) http://www.ratajik.com/StationRipper...N=1&FID=1&PR=3 At least you can get your feedback in for new features :wink: -BP |
I have some good news for anyone using StationRipper :D
My biggest complaint was that most stations streaming, don't broadcast the music title change in sync with the songs boudaries. What I mean, is that most of the songs you are recording will be incorrectly cut. Some will start with the song already 1 or 2 seconds from the beginning, and some will be chopped off before the end. This is very sad, because you don't have the complete songs. Well, I found this deep inside StationRipper's forum: "Actually, after experimenting, I have had sucess with the padding feature, and it does exactly what I want. Set the padding in miliseconds. I did 10000 ms before and after the split point and it works perfectly. -yirm" What yirm means is this: http://www.digitalfaq.com/archives/i...2005/07/15.png That dialog comes up when you "right click" on the current stream you are ripping, and then you choose "file splitting". What this does is that it guarantees at least 10 seconds of previous song plus 10 seconds of next song in the current splitted song So you will have to use an MP3 editor or cutter to trim the head and tail of each captured song, and this way you will have the complete song of each artist :D Recommended cutter is "mptrim", which you can gete here: http://www.mptrim.com/ If anyone has a suggestion for another MP3 cutter, I'd like to know. But please, suggest one that doesn't re-encode the audio :!: mptrim cuts without encoding. Some cutters out there use LAME to re-encode, and that sucks. Enjoy!, -kwag |
