@hi all,

It's getting closer to Xmas and I decided to send a slide show of
holiday happenings to relatives using gphotoshow. I want to create
background of tiled images of bell with holly, santas, etc. I been
using a crude method of accessing properties from the windows
desktop and selecting an image with tile. Then hiding the desktop
icons and print screen the wallpaper. With iview I crop out this
pattern and save it as background for family photos. This process
is very time consuming. Has anyone come across a program
that can take an image and tile it as a jpeg. Photo Shop has this
ability with a plugin, but That's a big package to do this small task.

BTW, Merry Xmas to everything

Yes!
Again and as in the other post about PDF, Gimp is free and multiplatform
Same as OO.org
It's the equivalent of Photoshop/Paintshop Pro but free .
Cheers

Thanks Kwag and rds_correia,

Just downloaded Gimp program and Gimp Installer. It's not easy
to create layering, tiling, etc. Need to find "Dummies Guide" for
these features. It sure is rich with features and the documentation
is online instead of PDF. Found a program "sTile" that seems to
have the tiling feature, but still testing Gimp. I will keep you posted
